Size

How to choose your size?

We highly recommend having your measurements taken by a professional tailor. However, we have provided our size chart to select the size that best suits you. However, the sizes provided are not cut to your specific measurements so the gown may need to be altered for your perfect fit.

IMPORTANT: We will not replace a gown due to the wrong size selected or the wrong personal measurements provided. Therefore, it is very important that you double check the size chosen and your personal measurements before you place an order.

Can I measure myself?

In order to ensure the best possible fit, we highly recommend you have your measurements taken by a professional. If you are unable to get measured professionally, please follow the measurement instructions that we have provided. Use a soft measuring tape and keep the tape snug but not tight when measuring. Also, make sure to always measure over your undergarments for the most accurate fit.

What sizes do you offer?

Our Standard Size ranges from size 2-16 (U.S. size) and our Plus Size ranges from size 14W-26W (U.S. size). Please see our size chart on the product page for the measurements related to each size.

IMPORTANT: If you're unsure of which size to choose, we offer an option to help you avoid choosing the wrong size. You may fill in your measurements on the product page by clicking “Enter Personal Measurements Here.” You may also click on the button to specify if you prefer the gown without a train or you would like to have the sleeve style changed or have a different back closure.

What size should I order if I am between sizes?

We recommend ordering the size that corresponds to your largest measurement because if you size down, you may not be able to have alterations done if needed. When in doubt, we would recommend having your personal measurements taken by a professional tailor and add the information by clicking on “Enter Personal Measurements Here” on the product page.

What if my gown needs alteration?

For alteration, it is highly recommended that you take your gown to a professional tailor, one that is highly skilled in sewing delicate fabrics regardless of whether or not the gown has beading, appliques, pearls, etc. Please note estimated delivery time given herein and place your order 2-3 months in advance to allow time for alterations before your special day. We are not responsible for any issues that may occur from the alteration of your gown.

Order

Can I place an order by phone?

No. All orders must be placed on the website to avoid misunderstanding. This will give you the reassurance that your gown will be custom-made according to your specified requirements.

Can I order a gown in a different color?

Yes. Please see our color swatch to choose. However, because monitor display settings on individual computers have chromatic aberration, we cannot guarantee that the color shown will be exactly the same as in the photo. Colors are optimized to look their best on a variety of different platforms, browsers and monitors so color may not be precise.

Why does it take so long to receive an order?

Gowns are shipped from our international designers. We do not have gowns already made to ship so custom-making takes longer delivery time. Further, a machine cannot make all parts of a gown. Although the gowns are not fully handmade, they are each hand sewn to add embellishments such as beads, embroidery, rhinestones, appliques, ribbons, buttons, crystals, pearls, lace, bows, straps, etc., which is a very delicate and time-consuming decorating process. Therefore, custom making, shipping and delivery may take an estimated time of up to 12 weeks. However, depending on the designer, some gowns will arrive sooner and so delivery times may vary. NOTE: All gowns are shipped to our U.S. location so that a second quality control is performed to confirm the gown is exactly as you ordered and mail to you thereafter.

How can I track my order status?

A tracking number will be sent to you via email after your gown is shipped.

Where is my order confirmation?

If you placed an order, but did not receive an email confirmation, please check your spam folder as order confirmations can sometimes end up there. If you still cannot find your order confirmation, please send us a message on our website or via email to contact@gorgeousgowns4u.com with your full name, order number, email address, phone number, and the delivery address you gave at checkout.

Do you ship international?

No. Gorgeous Gowns 4U ship only to the 48 contiguous states in the “U.S.” listed below We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. territories, P.O. Box or APO/FPO addresses.

Why is there no update on shipping after order is confirmed?

If an order is in the production stage, this mean it has not yet been shipped and there will be no updates until the order is completed. For shipped orders, it sometimes takes several days for the tracking information to be updated. Your package is shipped from our international manufacturer and after it is shipped, it is in transit or clearing customs. Therefore, the information will not be updated until it reaches the next shipping station that usually take up to 7 business days. Sometimes the shipping company has not updated the package information so we suggest you wait a few days.

How long will it take for a gown to be delivered after an order?

Delivery time may take up to 12 weeks, which include custom-making of the gown, shipping, and delivery to our U.S. location, where a second quality control is performed before the gown is mail to you.

Defective, Damaged OR Wrong Item

  • Notify us within 48 hours of receiving the package via email to contact@gorgeousgowns4u.com with your order number, a detailed explanation, and a photo of the gown showing that it is defective, damaged, wrong style, size or color.
  • After the information provided is confirmed, you will receive instructions on how to return the gown, without any cost to you.
  • We will replace the gown as a new order, which is subject to our production, shipment and delivery time.

RETURN POLICY

The only returns we accept is a gown that was received defective, damaged, wrong size, color, or style. Please read “Defective, Damaged or Wrong Item” instructions for return. NOTE: Jewelry, veil, jeweled headpieces, and petticoat are also final sale – no returns and no exchange.

EXCHANGE POLICY

  • We do not offer exchange because our gowns are made upon receipt of an order. There are no already made gowns to ship.
  • If you decide you want another style gown, you will need to place a new order.
  • All new orders are subject to our production, shipping and delivery time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All gowns are made-to-order and production is set-up to start custom-making a gown immediately an order is received so that it can be shipped to you quickly. Therefore, we cannot change, cancel or modify any part of the order after it has been confirmed. It is imperative that you re-check your order thoroughly before making payment. IMPORTANT: Do not refuse a delivery as there is no return trackable method for an undelivered package and it may get lost or stolen
